The story of “Swim Dock”

I am a summer camp girl. Spend five minutes with me and it will probably come up. I was 8 when I first went up north to camp. It quickly became my favourite place in the word. I never wanted to go home. I found my community at campfire: snuggled up to friends roasting s’mores, giggling at the counsellors funny skits, and singing along to Joni Mitchell songs. When I was finally old enough to be on camp staff, my first job was teaching swimming and lifeguarding on the “Swim Dock“. On the dock, we’d share stories, listen to music, and admire the beauty of our lake.

When I decided to build a company with the ethos of ‘cool Canadiana’, I went back to the place that I always felt the coolest and most Canadian… as a lifeguard on Swim Dock, looking out over Lake Wahwashkesh
